Dr. Squatch keeps your skin nourished in all weather

Winter air gets drier and wind gets harsher. Skin, especially on your face and hands, bears the brunt of difficult weather conditions. When the sun starts to shine again, you might think you’re in the clear, but spring weather brings windy days that contribute to dry skin. The right soap for dry skin makes all the difference in how your skin feels. Find out how adding Dr. Squatch to your skin care routine keeps your skin healthy.
Winter weather dries out your skin
Winter dries out your skin. Whether it’s because you’re in a place with crazy dry air or because you’ve been wearing wool sweaters for the last several months, we know you’re ready for a little bit of spring weather. Unfortunately for your skin, spring doesn’t always bring relief. Sure, it starts to rain, and you might actually see grass under all that snow, but you’re still facing a bunch of cooler nights and windy days. Blasting the heat in your car or home doesn’t help, either.
Why Dr. Squatch nourishes your skin in all weather
We’ve shared why we add essential oils to our soap, but we always come back to having the highest quality base to keep your skin healthy. All Dr. Squatch soap starts with the same ultra-nourishing foundation — saponified oils of olive, coconut, sustainably-sourced palm, and shea butter for even more skin healing benefits.
The cold process we use to make Dr. Squatch soap allows us to keep the glycerin in our bars. Glycerin works as a humectant, which is a fancy way of saying it draws moisture to the skin and acts as a protective barrier to keep that moisture from evaporating into the air. When you’re dealing with overheated office buildings and windy days, that added humectant can mean the difference between feeling moisturized for a short time or moisturized all day long.
Dr. Squatch picks the best soap for dry skin
All of our soap starts with our nourishing foundation. However, when your skin feels particularly dry, we have a couple bars that go the extra mile to keep your skin feeling moisturized. Eucalyptus Greek Yogurt moisturizes with the distinctive scent and benefits of eucalyptus. This moisturizing bar boasts antiseptic properties and soothes dry and cracked skin — eucalyptus oil can also be used as a salve for burns, so you know it’s going to be gentle on your skin.
We always grab Deep Sea Goat’s Milk when we need a little extra moisturizing. Squatch drags the goats out of the deepest seas to make sure we’re only using the highest quality goat’s milk in our bars. That might be a bit of a swashbuckler’s tall tale, but we don’t need to exaggerate the benefits of goat’s milk for your skin. Its alpha-hydroxy acids rejuvenate and revive your skin, and in conjunction with the gentle exfoliation of oatmeal, your dry winter skin will soon feel ready for sun and fun.
